Through what he calls “constructed situations,” Tino Sehgal has devised a strategy of a live and interactive art work.
At the gallery, a young girl introduces herself as a Japanese manga character, ‘Ann Lee’. This girl, originally a Japanese animation character then bought by Phillipe Parenno and Pierre Huyghe, first appeared in 2000 as an avatar in the film of Philippe Parreno titled Anywhere Out of the World. This time in Tino Sehgal’s work, she is reborn as a person in real life.
How does Ann Lee at the gallery interact with the visitors? How do they respond to her questions? The work enjoys the co-creation of the visitors.
