Emerging from ‹Bazm (Repertoire)›, ‹SCALE› concentrates its choreographic world into a single dancer. But what happens to scale when there is nothing to measure against? Conventionally, scale belongs to reason: bodies become comparable, space measurable, movement divisible. Here, scale becomes volatile. A gesture may be minute yet immense; a second can expand beyond its measure. Form is no longer contained by Euclidean space but unfolds through duration, intensity and attention. Scale becomes a mechanism between dancer and onlooker, continuously altering the magnitude of what appears. Rather than reducing Bazm, SCALE asks whether choreography can become larger precisely by becoming less: one body producing multiplicities, distances and temporalities that refuse stable proportion. Dance appears not at a certain scale, but as the continuous scaling of perception itself.

Armin Hokmi

Armin Hokmi is an Iranian choreographer and dancer whose internationally acclaimed work reimagines dance as a living, unstable repertoire. Moving between familiar forms and dances escaping recognition, his choreography combines precision, persistence and sensuality with an interest in histories pushed to the margins. His works include ‹Shiraz›(2024) and ‹Bazm (Repertoire)›(2026). He was Associate Artist at Montpellier Danse 2024–26 and works internationally across Europe and beyond.
